Red Dot Payment Announces New Payment Acceptance Options for Thailand’s Fast Moving eCommerce Market

[Bangkok, Thailand] – Red Dot Payment (RDP) has received approval from the Bank of Thailand (BOT) for additional payment acceptance methods for their merchants in Thailand: LINE Pay Thailand and mobile banking. Both payment methods go live as of 1 June 2026.

Thailand’s mobile payments market was valued at around USD 31.8 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 118.5 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 17.9%1. Around 54 million people in Thailand use LINE, roughly 80% of the population, with the platform embedded across all age groups and used by some 6 million business and government accounts2. These numbers describe where the customers already are, and where they expect to pay.

Available now through RDP

RDP’s merchants can now accept payments from LINE Pay users directly upon checkout. This solution will benefit the merchants that connect via RDP’s payment solutions, many of whom include eCommerce and hospitality businesses.

For mobile banking, customers pay directly from their bank app without a card, with Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited (KTB), Bank of Ayudhya  (BAY) and Kasikornbank (KBank) , currently supported and more in the pipeline. The buyer is redirected to their bank’s payment page, confirms the pre-filled amount, and returns to the merchant site with real-time payment confirmation on both ends.

Allowing Thai merchants to cater to their customers’ payment behavior

LINE Pay holds an estimated 25% share of Thailand’s e-wallet market3, and mobile wallet users in Thailand were forecast to reach almost 51 million across different brands by 20254. At the same time, hotels and tour operators are increasingly adopting local payment methods to capture spend more effectively. For merchants in hotels and e-commerce, missing a payment option that customers tend to prefer at the payment checkout page can mean a direct conversion loss.
